Shipping & Delivery Policy

All custom packaging orders placed with North Custom Packaging are manufactured according to the approved artwork, product specifications, and order details.

This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains our production schedules, proof approval process, available shipping methods, estimated delivery timeframes, and important information for domestic and international shipments.

North Custom Packaging provides flexible shipping options designed to accommodate different delivery requirements, project deadlines, and budgets.

Production Timeline

Production begins only after the customer has approved the final digital artwork proof and all applicable payment requirements have been completed.

Our typical production timeframes are:

  • Cardstock packaging: Approximately 3 to 4 working days
  • Rigid box packaging: Approximately 7 to 10 working days

Production timelines are estimates and may vary depending on several factors, including:

  • Order quantity
  • Box style and dimensions
  • Material availability
  • Printing requirements
  • Finishing and coating options
  • Special inserts or accessories
  • Artwork quality and readiness
  • Changes requested before final approval

Your North Custom Packaging account manager will provide a more specific production estimate based on the requirements of your order.

Digital Proof and Production Start

Every custom packaging order includes a digital proof for customer review and approval before production begins.

Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing the proof, including:

  • Product dimensions
  • Artwork placement
  • Text, spelling, and punctuation
  • Colors and design elements
  • Logos and images
  • Bleed areas and safety margins
  • Finishing and material specifications

Once the final digital proof has been approved:

  • The order may move into production within a short period of time.
  • Changes may no longer be possible once production has started.
  • Changes requested after approval may result in additional design, setup, production, or reprinting charges.
  • A complete reprint may be required at the customer’s expense if an error was present in the approved proof.

Production and delivery timeframes do not begin until final proof approval has been received.

Physical Samples

Physical samples may be available upon request for selected large-volume, premium, or technically complex orders.

Physical sample production typically requires up to 10 working days, depending on the product, materials, finishing requirements, and manufacturing schedule.

Sample availability, pricing, and production time will be confirmed by North Custom Packaging before the sample order is processed. Requesting a physical sample may extend the overall project timeline.

  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • Europe

Shipping Carriers

North Custom Packaging works with established international and domestic shipping carriers to provide secure and trackable delivery services.

Carriers may include:

  • DHL
  • FedEx
  • UPS
  • Other approved freight, courier, or logistics providers

The selected carrier may depend on:

  • Delivery destination
  • Shipment dimensions
  • Total shipment weight
  • Number of cartons or pallets
  • Selected shipping service
  • Carrier availability
  • Customs and import requirements

North Custom Packaging reserves the right to select the carrier and shipping route that reasonably meets the requirements of the order.

Shipping Options and Estimated Timeframes

North Custom Packaging offers multiple shipping options so customers can choose a service based on delivery speed and budget.

All shipping timeframes listed below are estimates expressed in working days. Shipping time begins after production has been completed and the order has been handed over to the carrier.

1. Express Shipping

Estimated shipping time: 7 to 10 working days

Express Shipping is recommended for time-sensitive orders that require faster delivery.

Availability and pricing may depend on the shipment size, weight, destination, and carrier capacity.

2. Standard Shipping

Estimated shipping time: 15 to 20 working days

Standard Shipping provides a balance between delivery speed and shipping cost and is suitable for most custom packaging orders.

3. Cost Saver Shipping

Estimated shipping time: 45 to 55 working days

Cost Saver Shipping may be suitable for bulk orders, larger shipments, or customers who prioritize cost efficiency over faster delivery.

This option may not be available for every destination or product type.

Total Estimated Delivery Time

The total estimated delivery time is calculated as follows:

Production Time + Selected Shipping Time = Total Estimated Delivery Time

For example, an order requiring 7 working days for production and 15 working days for shipping would have an estimated total timeline of approximately 22 working days after final proof approval.

Total delivery times are estimates and may vary due to:

  • Order complexity
  • Product quantity
  • Material availability
  • Special finishing requirements
  • Customer proof approval delays
  • Shipping destination
  • Carrier schedules
  • Customs inspections or clearance
  • Weather or transportation disruptions
  • Events beyond our reasonable control

Unless expressly guaranteed in writing, delivery dates are estimates and should not be treated as guaranteed arrival dates.

Customs, Duties, and Taxes

International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, inspection charges, or other fees imposed by the destination country.

  • Customs charges are determined by the destination country and its authorities.
  • These charges are not included in product or shipping prices unless expressly stated in writing.
  • The customer is responsible for paying applicable customs duties, taxes, brokerage charges, and import fees.
  • The customer is responsible for providing any information or documentation required for customs clearance.

North Custom Packaging is not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections, customs clearance procedures, unpaid import fees, missing documentation, or decisions made by government authorities.

Shipping Address Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and deliverable shipping information when placing an order.

Shipping information should include:

  • Recipient’s full name
  • Company name, where applicable
  • Complete street address
  • Apartment, suite, unit, or building number
  • City, state, province, or region
  • Postal or ZIP code
  • Country
  • Valid telephone number
  • Any necessary delivery instructions

North Custom Packaging is not responsible for:

  • Delays caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses
  • Failed delivery attempts caused by inaccurate information
  • Orders delivered to an address approved or provided by the customer
  • Additional storage, return, redelivery, or reshipping charges
  • Losses resulting from the customer’s failure to update shipping details before dispatch

If an order must be returned, redirected, or shipped again because of an address error, the customer may be responsible for all additional shipping and handling costs.

Tracking Information

Tracking information will generally be provided after the shipment has been dispatched and processed by the carrier.

Tracking updates are supplied by the shipping carrier and may not appear immediately after dispatch. North Custom Packaging does not control the frequency or accuracy of carrier tracking updates.

Shipping Damage and Delivery Issues

Customers should inspect all cartons and products as soon as possible after delivery.

If visible damage, missing cartons, or product damage is identified, the customer must notify North Custom Packaging within 7 calendar days of delivery.

The customer should provide clear photographs or videos showing:

  • The outer shipping cartons
  • Shipping labels
  • Any visible damage to the cartons
  • Internal protective packaging
  • The damaged products
  • The quantity of affected products

Customers should retain all damaged products, cartons, labels, and internal packaging until the claim has been reviewed.

Failure to provide sufficient documentation or to report the issue within the stated timeframe may affect our ability to investigate the claim or seek compensation from the carrier.

Partial Shipments

Large, bulk, or multi-product orders may be packed and delivered in multiple cartons, pallets, or separate shipments.

Different parts of an order may arrive on different dates depending on:

  • Carrier handling procedures
  • Shipment size and weight
  • Warehouse or production schedules
  • Customs processing
  • Routing requirements

Where available, separate tracking information will be provided for each shipment or package.

A partial delivery does not necessarily mean that products are missing. Customers should review all tracking numbers and allow the carrier’s stated delivery period before reporting missing cartons.

Unsuccessful Delivery Attempts

Shipping carriers may make one or more delivery attempts according to their own policies.

If a delivery cannot be completed because no authorized recipient is available, the address is inaccessible, required fees remain unpaid, or the customer does not cooperate with the carrier, the shipment may be held, returned, or disposed of in accordance with the carrier’s policies.

The customer may be responsible for any storage, return, redelivery, disposal, customs, or reshipping charges resulting from an unsuccessful delivery.

Delays and Events Beyond Our Control

North Custom Packaging is not responsible for production, shipping, customs, or delivery delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Customs inspections or clearance delays
  • Carrier disruptions
  • Weather conditions
  • Floods, fires, earthquakes, or other natural disasters
  • Strikes or labor disputes
  • Port congestion or transportation interruptions
  • Government restrictions or regulatory changes
  • Public health emergencies
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest, or political instability
  • Power, internet, equipment, or system failures
  • Shortages of materials, fuel, labor, or transportation capacity
  • Other force majeure events

Where reasonably possible, North Custom Packaging will communicate significant known delays and provide updated estimates. However, we cannot guarantee delivery by a particular date when a delay is caused by a carrier, customs authority, government agency, or another event outside our control.
